While physical fitness gets lots of attention, mental fitness is often neglected. Maintaining a healthy and strong mind can be made easy with these 7 simple steps:

1. Eat “Smart”

Choose “brain-power” foods, like fruits, vegetables, and oily fish. The omega-3 fatty acids in fish such as salmon and mackerel are reported to enhance brain function and reduce memory loss.

2. Get Moving

Physical activity gets your heart pumping and circulates more nutrients and oxygen to your brain. Stay active for at least 30 minutes on most days of the week.

3. Make Time for People

Keep your mind sharp by building and maintaining strong social connections. Spend time with friends and family.

4. Manage Stress

Remember to relax and keep a positive attitude.

5. Limit Alcohol Intake

Alcohol can kill brain cells.

6. Get Enough Sleep

Adequate sleep restores energy so you’re feeling alert each day!

7. Work your Brain

Activities like puzzles, playing cards, and learning new skills can help exercise your brain!
